CLIMBING PLUG PLANTS

Hybrid Clematis - The President - 5 plug plants

HYBRID CLEMATIS - THE PRESIDENT - CLIMBER - 5 PLUG PLANTS

 

Come packed in box of 5 plug plants ready for potting on.

 

Large, single, rich purple flowers, silver beneath, with red anthers in early summer.

 

Height: 2-3m.  Can be limited by pruning.

 

Position: Ideal against a wall, fence, pergola or growing through a large tree.

 

Soil: any good, well-drained garden soil.

 

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

 

Prepare a hole large enough to avoid damage to the roots.  Water the plant and allow to drain.  Remove container and plant firmly 5cm below existing soil level in prepared position.  Water well.

 

Feed: top dress in spring with general fertiliser.

 

Pruning: In early spring remove dead and damaged stems before growth begins, trimming all remaining stems back to strong buds.

CLEMATIS VITICELLA KERMESINA - CLIMBER - 5 PLUG PLANTS

Deep red medium flower in July-September.

Height: 3m.

Position: in borders against a wall, fence, archway, trellis or pergola and growing through trees, shrubs and conifers.

Soil: any good but moist garden soil.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

Prepare a hole large enough to avoid damage to the roots. Water the plants and allow to drain, remove container and plant firmly 5cm below existing soil level in prepared position. Water well.

Watering: water thoroughly in dry weather until the plant is well established.

Feed: top dress in spring with general fertiliser.

Pruning: 1st spring cut back to 30cm. 2nd and subsequent years remove thin weak growth and cut back to a strong pair of buds.
